Dealing with poop in cloth diapers isn’t as hard as it sounds! Here’s how to handle it based on your baby’s age:

Newborns (Breastfed or Formula-Fed)

If your baby is only drinking breast milk, the poop is water-soluble, so you can toss the diaper straight into the wash.

Formula-fed poop is a little thicker, so you might want to rinse it first, but it’s not required.

When Your Baby Starts Eating Solids

Once your baby eats solid food, poop needs to be removed before washing:

Shake It Off – If the poop is solid, just shake it into the toilet.

Use a Sprayer – A toilet sprayer (like a mini shower) helps rinse off poop.

Dunk & Swish – Dip the diaper in the toilet and swish it around to loosen poop.

Try Liners – Disposable or reusable liners catch poop, making cleanup easier.

Before Washing

After getting rid of poop, store the diaper in a dry pail or wet bag.

No need to soak—just run a rinse cycle before washing them.

Before First Use:

• Wash insert at least 5 times to remove the natural oils from the inserts. Tumble-dry low or hang to dry.

Regular Wash Routine:

• Get rid of sold waste by spraying the cloth diaper over the toilet or by using a disposable liner.
• Pre-wash cold, no detergent.
• Hot wash with detergent.
• Extra Rinse no detergent.
• Tumble dry low or hang-dry.
